Welcome

At Green Room Therapy, I offer professional, compassionate counselling to support you through a wide range of challenges. Whether you prefer to meet in-person in Oldham or online from anywhere in the UK, I provide a safe, confidential space where you can talk freely and work towards the changes you want to see in your life.

About Me

My name is Joanne Green, and I am a qualified Person-Centred and Integrative Counsellor offering personalised support to adults and young people aged 16 and over across the UK. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore what’s affecting your mental health and wellbeing.

I have experience supporting clients through a wide range of challenges, including domestic abuse, PTSD, historic sexual abuse, suicide, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, phobias, grief and loss, weight management, Neurodiversity and other life events that can impact emotional resilience.

Alongside my clinical practice, I bring over 30 years of lived experience from working within the emergency services as a Detective Sergeant, Coach, and Family Liaison Officer. I’ve worked closely with families following traumatic bereavements, including murder and suicide, and supported police officers through personal and professional difficulties.

My counselling style is warm, grounded, and empathic. I draw on both person-centred and trauma-informed approaches to help you understand what’s holding you back, empowering you to heal, grow, and rediscover hope.

I currently hold qualifications in Coaching and a Foundation (FdSc) Degree (level 5) in Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Skills and I am currently working towards a BSc Honours Degree (Level 6). I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework and values to ensure that my clients are offered an appropriate standard of service.
